Sewing Machine Maintenance Workshop

June 13 is National Sewing Machine Day.
Member Lori Friberg leads this small group, hands-on workshop on maintaining your vintage sewing machine. There will be two sessions of 1.5 hours each. Each session is limited to 8 participants (Minimum of 4). Session one (1-2:30) will be for Featherweight fans. Session two (2:30 – 4:00) will cover maintaining your Singer 301, 401/403/404 and 500/503 machines. Kenmore machines may be brought in, as well. Sign up and payment due at the May 24 meeting. The sign-up table is located at back of the church.

If you are having difficulties with your machine, eg thread breaking, tension issues, etc, diagnosis and repair will be covered after maintenance portion is complete. It will be helpful to let Lori know in advance of the workshop what issues you are having.

sewing machine oil
bath towel
screwdrivers (should fit well!)

Fees include lint brush. If you need parts such as bobbin winder tires, belts, spool pins, etc., Lori will place a group order.
